Clean Ups

Above: KML President Shawn Morrissey assesses erosion with high school student and KML volunteer, Alex Kim.

Right: A beautiful sight! The first clean up of 2008 takes place on Bukhan. Russell Young (left) & Kyle Tapper tackle some trash in the heat. Followed by a few cold beers at the bottom!!!

Left: A portion of a discarded concrete sewage pipe, forgotten about and left near the Wonhyo Trailhead, is trash within itself; now so-called hikers are using it as a trash can.

Below: KML Webmaster, Russell Young, gets his hands dirty.

Right: Directly on the route in Jirisan that follows the Baekdu Daegan, Korea's primary and most revered ridgeline, would-be mountaineers have left their trash behind with absolutely no regard for the natural, spiritual, and cultural integrity of the mountain.

Below: The KML pushes on.

Right: A disgusting sight. Plastic containers, alcohol bottles, and chopsticks tossed carelessly on the ground. Note how close the litter is to the trail.
